Antioxidant-rich foods and herbs you may not know of

Today more than ever, we’re in need of antioxidants. Many of us consume high amounts of processed food and we’re constantly exposed to pollutants.

Antioxidants are substances that inhibit oxidation. They help to make the aging process slower, giving the skin more youth and protecting against heart disease, stroke and cancer.

In addition to many more benefits to the human body.

So, how can you increase the benefits of antioxidants and how do you help prevent cell damaging oxidation?

Well, it’s pretty simple; You can add foods and herbs that have high levels of antioxidants to your diet.

Some of the top antioxidant foods include; blueberries, pecans and cranberries.

There are plenty of antioxidants in daily diet items such as; tomatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, strawberries and grapes.

Moving to herbs, and some of the plants that are extremely high in healing antioxidant compounds include; cloves, cinnamon and basil, though you may be already consuming some common items which are loaded with antioxidants such as garlic and green tea.

Health experts recommend you try to consume at least three servings of the above-mentioned foods daily and two to three servings of these herbs for optimal results.
